Captain Morgan Extends into Food

June 4, 201 9 - Brand extension licensing agency Beanstalk has brokered an agreement with Great Spirits Baking Company on behalf of Captain Morgan, a rum brand produced by Diageo.

Under the terms of the deal, Great Spirits Baking Company will produce a banana-pineapple spice cake infused with the taste of Captain Morgan, marketing the first extension of the Captain Morgan brand into desserts via a licensing partnership.

The Captain Morgan Hummingbird Cake launches this month at Costco stores across North America. “We’re excited to extend the Captain Morgan flavor into desserts, helping people eat and live life to the fullest, just like the Captain.” says Declan Hassett, senior licensing manager, Diageo.
